Taunton North Newsletter
I hope by the time you are reading this we will be enjoying the sunshine of the British summer and everyone will have the BBQ’s on the go as it’s been fairly up and down since I last wrote.
As always, life at County Hall is never dull with lots of casework to address and you may or may not be surprised to learn that in my first year, the top concern within Taunton North is to do with our roads and/or parking.
The Council recently introduced a new parking policy for residents that have issues in their roads by way of petitioning them through a local Councillor. I’m delighted to report that I am the first Councillor to take advantage of this new policy and have successfully been granted consultations in Malvern Terrace and the Triangle which should address parking concerns and make accessing their properties easier once replies have been returned.
I’ve also had some good news in relation to my two Small Improvement Schemes (SIS) applications. Both the crossing on Bossington Drive and the extension of the footpath to link the bus stop on Priorswood Road (by the roundabout) have recently been approved and have now gone to the design stage.
Finally, I was also delighted in my role as a Director of Taunton Town Football Club to welcome North Taunton Partnership to our match with Bristol Manor Farm on 21st April to collect a £250 donation from our clubs Christmas Collection. Each year all directors can nominate a local charity and I was thrilled the club accepted my nomination.
Feel free to get in touch if I can be of assistance and as always you can keep up to date with me via my social media accounts.
