Letter to Cllr Deakin, Leader of Taunton Town Council (Maidenbrook Country Park)
Dear Tom,
Having allowed an appropriate amount of time for the new Town Council to bed in since its creation, I am writing to you in your capacity as Leader of Taunton Town Council.
Both you and I have made commitments to support the Maidenbrook Country Park and I thought I’d take this opportunity to remind you of the pledge you made in your roles as Somerset Councillor for Taunton North and Chairman of the Shadow Town Council that Taunton Town Council would financially ‘support’ Maidenbrook Country Park
As you know, the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) money the Town Council will now receive instead of Cheddon Fitzpaine Parish Council is in the hundreds of thousands and some of that money was earmarked for the future development and upkeep of the Country Park which it will now not receive.
In the spirit of co-operation, I am hopeful that I can count on you to help support a proposal that we can work on together and present to the Town Council. One that helps benefit the residents of Northwalls, Nerrols & Maidenbrook by supporting the Maidenbrook Country Park financially.
Maidenbrook Country Park has been a labour of love for volunteers across Maidenbrook and is enjoyed by so many. I look forward to hearing from you.
Best Wishes
Giuseppe Fraschini
Councillor for Maidenbrook Ward
